Cooking Instructions
- Bring a rinse beans to a boil.
- Once the beans is nearly cooked, add your desired amount of the waakye leaf powder to the pot.
- Add baking soda (optional).
- Add a rinse rice to the pot with beans and waakye leaf powder, add additional water if necessary to ensure enough liquid to cook the rice and beans.
- Add salt to taste and stir the mixture well, then bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot and let it simmer until rice and beans are fully cooked with a rich flavor and color.
- Usually serves with Shito, boiled eggs, fish etc.
